    Default 2.0T Intercooler?

Has anyone changed the standard cooler on their 2.0T? The reason i ask is that i spoke to MPG yesterday and they mentioned they can fit bigger cooler's to the NET.

So anyone done it and is it a worthwhile mod??

Not sure but I thought I heard that they run the same intercoolers as the VXR, in which case its plenty big enough, with no improvemtns to gain ??!!?? I might be wrong !

There would be very little to gain on a std one, but on a tuned one it maybe worth it
Now I need a turbo to keep up!

They actually told me it was uprated to a VXR cooler, so im assuming they must be different?

I've done it.. took out the standard cooler.. moved back the aircon rad and added a universal front mounted ally cooler.. got pipework sorted and away you go

Pulls smoother and harder and seems to run cooler... about 85 degrees rather 90 degrees

Hmm, mine has always run bang on 85 degrees whether it was standard, S1 or S3. Wonder if it would run less than that with a second or larger intercooler.

You dont really want to make them larger, just more efficient, the larger the internal volume the longer it takes to get up to boost. Yes you may get more power in the end but at the sacrifice of response and drivability.

    Cheers for the info Craig

Mine run's at around 85 degrees too Duncan and this was not affected by the superchip's map which i really need to get it back to standard...
