    Exclamation HELP PLEASE 2.0t 2007

Just fitted stage 3 BSR and the 3" downpipe with Jetex cat back 2.5"

Going down the motorway last night.. put my foot down in 5th or 6th it gets a HUGE kickback!? Basically it looses all power as if you turn the key off whilst accelerating then back on again!? Pretty violent to be honest

What do you reckon? Fuel issue? Blocked filter? Im lost

Craig - can you do a fault code test and report back on the code>
i had similar issues on mine going to stage one (so did duncan and jezzy) fault code P0244 was recorded and we all replaced the turbo solenoid as it was too sensitive - so it may be this but i would have expected you to have this issue on stage one

Duncan has had some issues with overfuelling so maybe worth a pm to him - but see if you can read the faults first

    regards

As Dez says I'd be looking at the boost side of things first i.e. sensors etc. Sounds like the car is sensing too much boost (or thinking it is) and dropping the turbo into safe mode (which isn't necessarily accompanied by any spanner light etc.)

I had the same problem as you - and it normally only happened when it was a cold day and therefore the car would boost that little bit higher.

Given that you've just fitted a boost gauge, I'd actually look at that first as the culprit. With me the problem only finally went away when I unplumbed my boost gauge! Even though every connection seemed to be nice and tight, there was obviously something about the boost gauge that it doesn't like - the extra length of piping or something. When I fitted Mark1319's boost gauge (same one as I had) he then had the same problem, so there's definitely something about boost gauges that the car doesn't like.

No codes come up when i looked

The boost gauge was fitted and working fine on stage 1.. just changed to using 98ron fuel since stage 3 on... is that the problem? Car not used to it?

I have changed the fuel filter and put in Lucas fuel cleaner, see how that goes

    Still does it

Looks like the boost gets up to 25psi and starts kicking back.. Is this normal? Too high?

Anybody know part number and cost of the solenoid that has been suggested?

    Thanks in advance

25psi, ****** hell thats pretty high!
sounds like you are overboosting and the kickback you describe is the ECU cutting the igntion out.

think Duncans made 1.6 bar on one run... the rest of the time upto or just under 1.5 Bar when he first fitted it...

if yours is running 25 psi thats 1.72375 bar which is higher than recommended .... but again depends on how accurate the gauge is and where the tap for the gauge is fitted .... if its wrong then it can affect the reading

but maybe its gonna be a call to BSR

Is that 25 PSI absolute? Or 25 PSI above atmospheric? Only the latter would be a problem, surely?
