    Default dodgy MAF

I thought my problem was down to a dodgy MAF so I bought one from sutton auto factors and their policy is no returns on electrical parts purchased. ok.....

but their maf instantly sends my car in to limp mode with spanner light so where do i stand before my car was lacking performance below 2k now its just flat and hesitant throughout rev band.

where do i stand as in my eyes the part is not fit for purpose.

    Thanks people

    Hi mate,

Assuming the problem you were facing was not down to a dodgy MAF sensor, then a new one should not affect the performance at all, if it is then the part itself is faulty. Why dont you get an exchange for another MAF sensor and go from their, hopefully it cures the problem, if not then you will be back to square one but you can always sell the sensor on ebay no probs. It might help if you outline the problems you were facing and maybe get the fault codes read to aid people in giving you the right advise

yeah think its gonna have to be a fault code read, maybe its all in my head (you know a car "feels" slow after owning it a while) it just doesnt seem to have the low end torque anymore. yeah i think ill be taking it back tomorrow the other seems perfect compared to this as i never had spanner light before

    Hi
I would take it back too. Which branch of auto spares did you get it from. I live approx 5 miles from Sutton in Ashfield branch and have Opelscan software so would be able to read fault codes etc if you wanted (F.O.C of course)
