    Default 3.2 oil change

Going to change the oil its been running on mobil 1 5w/30, halfords have 20% off mobil oils at the moment meaning you can get 4 litres 5w/30 for £37.59 or 5 litres 0w/40 for £38.39, is the 0w/40 suitable if yes which one would you go for.

I get mine done every 6 months at my local National Tyre.... Castrol Edge 0W 30 + filter £39.00 .... ordered online gets a 10% discount down to £35.10

Covered by normal guarantee, etc... I don't have to get rid of old stuff.

    Works for me

I'd go for neither, I'd get (and did) 5 litres of the genuine 5/30 GM stuff from Autovaux for less than 20 quid.

Maybe so, but the OP asked about buying oil from Halfords.

Look at it this way; I got 5 litres of the proper stuff (which leaves 0.25l left for top ups, etc), an oil filter, an air filter, a charcoal pollen filter and a sump plug & washer delivered for not much more than National want for an oil change alone.

Plus I had the satisfaction of doing the job myself (though, maybe I'm odd in that respect), knowing it was done right & the quality of the stuff used. It took 30 minutes to do it all, tops.

It's all personal choice in the end and paying a garage £39 isn't going too beak the bank, it's just I don't mind getting my hands dirty and getting more for less.

Then add the VAT and p&p onto the autovaux price = £30.97

or £37.29 if you want a next day AM delivery.
