Just had my first bumb in the Vectra last night.
Going over to my Grandma's last night to sort her TV out for this digital retuning thing. Turned out of my road, went to joint the main road and I stalled. Stupid mistake, only the second time I have ever stalled the diesel since having it from May.
When a large bang came from the back of the car, and pushed me about a meter into the main carriageway.
And of all things to be hit by, it was another vectra!!!!!
This guy was right up my chuff all the way up the road, I couldn't even see his V-grille. He then gets out of the car and starts shouting 'what the hell am I doing?'
Eventually he calmed down, we swapped details and went on our seperate ways. The thing that got me was, we were both stationary waiting for a break in the traffic to pull out, and the force by which he hit me, sending me a considerable distance into the carriageway for a vehicle weighing almost 1.7 tonnes and with a stalled engine.
There wasn't much damage the either car, but the way in which this guy was driving and reacted just seamed a little off. I made a common driving mistake, but he clearly wasn't looking where he was going and was moving into a space where the previous car had not yet departed from and driving too close. Most people would of never had this problem with insurance companies and the like just from a stalled engine.
I drive a big black estate vectra, it's not like you can't see it if your looking where your going. And more frustrating was his immediate reaction of shouting at me, for his driving error.
I'm quite a reserved guy, and not great at answering back at people, but after I had come away from the accident and stopped shaking, it just made me think about it, and straight after an accident, shouting at people really isn't going to help. It seamed, aggressive driver, aggressive person.
