or washing machine installers ?????

thing is my washing machine which is only just over a year old smells on the inside
the guys who fitted my kitchen moved my machine from it's original position and now it's farther away from the sink so they put an extension wast hose on

i'm wondering is there a minimun length for a waste hose as mine might be to long they have fitted a supposedly non return valve at the joint in the waste hose

any help would be appreciated

Our machine stunk mate. We had an engineer out to fix a spring in it and he said just to but a cleaner from the manufacture. One tab a month and its sweet smells all the way. Re the length of your new hose, id imagine as long as it has a very slight gradient towards the drain it should be fine.

tried various cleaners even done washes at highest temp etc but nothing working so far

Make sure the hose is higher at the machine end than at the drain pipe end, and also that it does not sag in the middle if it is a flexible hose.

I had the same problem with our Bosch machine. Just over a year old. You would do a wash and the clothes and machine stank. Common problem with Bosch. Turns out the soap drawer water feed above drawer was full of mould from inlet water splashing conditioner up. Solution was to take top off machine, take out drawer assembly and clean out mould.

Pretty easy to do but disappointed that you need to have to do this. Saved a few bob doing it myself!!
