    Default 22dti Turbo Problem

Hi everyone. Just had to get the missus fished of the hard shoulder this morning by AA. Was asking the guy what the problem was and he told me that Fault code 1105 was showing(checked out here and its MAP sensor). He also told me there was some oil in the turbo pipes and in the intercooler and also that there was some play in the turbo spindle. I have already resigned to the fact the turbo is stuffed and i was just wondering how hard or easy would it be to replace the turbo.(have priced a new 1 with vx dealer £300 + my old turbo)

    Thanks in advance

If i were you i would clean or replace the MAP (boost) sensor first, it is not uncommon for dti's to have a little oil going through the intercooler.

just remover the manifold and look what i was greeted with. Don't think this would help the boost sensor.

That's a great price for a Turbo I just paid £550 plus vat, £843 for the entire job with labour and fresh oil.

I don't think it's too hard a job if you are a trained mechanic, but you will need access to the underside of the car.

I'd wait to see if the turbo does fail, rather than replace it in case....

im sure if the turbo fails, it will screw your engine, ive got my turbo on the way out and if it goes it can suck all the oil from the engine and start smokin heavily and kill the engine. be careful.
