Default DTUK. what are they like?

My bro has bought me a DTUK box for my birthday
does anyone on here have one?
    I have a 1.9 cdti 150
what kind of things can i expect from it and also how easy is it to connect? I had a quick look at the website but would rather have someone on here tell me from their experience
    kind regards!

Do a search on this forum, there were lots of discussion over a year ago on boxes. There was positives and negatives. IMO do not hammer it with box fitted as you will risk a premature moment (failure). From memory, gives an abrupt shove in the back from power, can give lots of smoke from exhaust, gives false fuel consumption figures on trip computer (if you have 1) but should reset ok if box is removed and battery disconnected.

iv had my dtuk box in for 11 months now ands never had any problems the power is great and if you let the engine warm up completely before you do some enthusiastic driving you will be fine .... iv never noticed any increase or decrease in fuel consumption and never noticed any excessive smoke under hard acceleration

I got eco 3 on my car and had no problems with it. Some people have different opinions about these and remaps...With a box you can take it off the car and sell it if you dont like it or selling the car...You got different settings on these boxes aswell it a plug and play unit... just have to find the best setting for your car as eveyones car is different..Just remember dont floor it in 1 st and 2nd but 3rd through to 6th it will pull like a train....Enjoy it m8...

Similar but its not plug and play, you have to cut the loom. Mapping is by far the safest option IMO

    hi there,
sorry to be the thick gimp here,
    but..........

I fitted my new DTUK box. the settings are 1-9 and then A-E i think
anyway, im up to B and all is well and im liking the extra power, fab

But is it just a case that the higher I go the more power I will get?
Or is it simply that each car is different and i need to try each setting.
e.g. setting 5 may give me better power than setting A????

    cheers my lovlies
