Vectra C 1.8 SRI engine ticking noise

Hi all, I've noticed a loud ticking noise coming from my Vectra 1.8 53 plate SRI - you don't seem to notice it when the engine is cold but as it warms up the ticking gets louder - it's quite annoying when sitting at traffic lights and it's been going on for months now. The car has done about 80000 miles and had the cam belt changed at 60000.
I've had it in to the local garage and when the mechanic removed the cover to the timing belt (think it was the timing belt at the front of the engine) I could hear the ticking noise was a lot louder - I had the cam belt changed in February 2008 and was billed by an independent garage for a power belt £15.23 and a belt kit /765485lo for £75.69 and was wondering if anything should have been changed at the same time as the noise seems to be coming from that area of the car.
I've read somewhere that you should get the water pump changed at the same time as the belt - any ideas.

took the car to my normal local garage yesterday in Speke Liverpool - checked the water pump and it was leaking - £119.00 later to supply and fit new water pump and the ticking has gone phew. The mechanic said he is going to recommend the water pump is changed when doing future cam belt changes - worth paying the bit extra just foe peace of mind.
