Default Does the Vectra Sacrefice a Sidelight for a Braklight?

    Hi
I was drving the other day and my dash lit up saying check n/s brake light. When home and checked, the rear sidelight was acting as the brake light.. I replaced the blown brake light bulb and everything was back to normal,, the side light was just a side light... is this normal behaviour for the vectra?

    Yep.

The fronts do it too, when I had a front sidelight out, the indicator bulb lit up constantly to compensate.

part of the advantages of multiplexed wiring - it can still display a matched pair of light bulbs -

I get that too, but IMO its dangerous as there were a few instances of people almost pulling out on me at roundabouts as I can only assume they thought I was indicating !!

Seen a few Vectra C with indicator permanently on, just looks daft and like there is an electrical fault
However, it is good as this lets the owner know there is fault; SO GET IT FIXED, all for the sake of a £1 bulb that is dead easy to change!
