    Question Lacquer on Alloys?

Nothing too technical but basically bought some second hand alloys on ebay and on closer inspections now i have them it does seem they have been painted. That said they still look good but in places the finish is rough to touch, so my question is how do i lacquer it to give a sooth finish bearing in mind never done anythin like that before?

you need some wet dry and rub back the finish till its nice and smooth - be careful though as begin too exuberant on the old elbow grease will render them requiring a respray as well

dependant on the "feel of them i would recommend a finer grade wet dry to start then you wont risk taking off too much finish if you havent used it before

then give them a very good clean - make sure there is no grease or dirt and mask off the tyres and anything you dont want to spray

use a well ventilated area - and give as many thin coats as you can leaving roughly half an hour to an hour to dry now the weather is getting cooler- the more layers the harder the finish will be - and then leave to harden before refitting then give them a coat of polish and a paint sealant to protect the new finish

You could also just try some clay as it might be just overspray or just contamenants stuck to the wheel. Its easier than repainting and it might do the trick
