Default Vectra C with unknown wiring.

    Hi all,

Right, I have a 2002 Vectra C 2.2 sxi, I have just got myself a JVC AVX44 headunit, all is fitted an works perfectly, I just cant get used to not having the steering controls.

Got an audioleads kit from Nexxia, X06 kit and a JVC patch lead kit.
Because my Vectra isnt wired like the later models this doesnt work, so, Nexxia sent me another kit, X45 which is for later c's with big display, (mine is small) and this still doesnt work, Spoke to guys at Audioleads and they have no ideas either (after 2 hours of calls) apparently Vectras use one white wire for steering controls, mine has 2.

Does anyone have any ideas here ? has anyone done the same ?

The guys at Audioleads think I might have hybrid wiring lol, from Veccy b going into veccy C but are at a loss as to explain the vdrop from the acc wire when their module is plugged in.
I get 11.8v from batt wire, 10.8v from accs wire which drops to 8v when module connected, but even when module was connected direct to batt wire nothing worked.

    Going nuts here, please help.

Ok, my Vectra has deffo got a ONE wire steering control system NOT a two wire.

Tried a selsus wire kit today and still nothing works, this is crazy, there must be somebody out there somewhere who has an idea of what is going on, is my car really that screwed up ?

Have you quoted for a Late Vectra B or an Omega B...these should have the same early plugs as the early Vectra C...

Not a hybrid, just Vauxhall going halfway between the ISO (for cavaliers, early vectra b etc), and Quadlock on the 2005 onward models...

Been told by both audioleads and celsus that both their kits should still work, the kits cover nearly all vauxhalls inc, corsa, vec b, vec c, astra etc, with only slight differences eg, dash display in veccy c, neither company knows why the kits dont work tho.
I suppose the only other alternative is to assume that the HU is faulty, even tho it was new 18 months ago and was only used by my father-in-law for 4 months due to the horrible "ipod" volume control.

Lol, I wish it was ex-police m8, it might have been tuned then too

It was a vauxhall approved car before i got it, only 2 previous owners.

Think im gonna hafta put the oem back in to make sure the controls still work, then its either dodgy HU or incompatible HU.
