    Default Tips for painting brake calipers

    With me just getting the 314mm disks and calipers I want to now paint them VXR Blue all round. Ive not painted brakes before so do any of you guys have any tips on how to achive the best finish in the easiest possible way.

    andy i got some brake cleaner and a small wire brush.just got the heavy stuff off. been on ages now and no sign of any peeling.

    I didnt know what paint to use as I have heard guys say that they used smooth hammerite but still wasnt sure so I bought Halfords own brake paint in blue.
    Do you need to strip the calipers or paint them on the car avoiding the pads etc

    i used hammerite and fine mate.
    no need to strip them off the car,i painted the rear on and the front before i had them fitted and the rear are the better ones.if you give them a good clean you will be ok mate.

    Did mine not so long ago, easy mate - I used brake paint too but hammerite is also fine. Like VECMAN, a wire brush is ideal, big and a small I used.

    The Halfords brake paint is like nats wee, stick with the Hammerite.
