Default Mtec Hid bulb keeps going out

I have fitted an mtec kit a while ago and one of the bulbs keeps going out. this seems to happen more in damp or cold weather.

I just turn the lights off then on again the the problem is solved but its starting to happen more often now and is beginning to annoy me.

I have tried moving the ballast to a different place and coating it and wd40. but it still happens.

Is this common? or is it about time to buy a new set?

    keith

Lol funny you should mention that, I have exactly the same car, exactly the same colour and exactly the same problem.

I'm thinking of buying a new kit though as mine has been on a couple of cars now and i want to get one with smaller ballasts

Swap the two bulbs over to see if one of the ballast packs is faulty.

its nothing strange, it happens if you have weak battry aswell.

try it, switch on the lights then fire up the engine, you'll see the lights go out. then you bulb warng light will come on the ballaster will go on safty cut out, untill you switch the lights off and put them back on.

the lights shouldnt go out at all if you have good strong battary.
ive done and tested this. it used to happen with my saab all the time changed the battary and all was good after that.

I found that if you leave the car a few minutes after starting before switching them on helps
