Default cost of drivers door lock mech?

have stripped osf door down due to car not staying locked and display on the dash indicates that drivers door is open when its closed, have unplugged the multi-plug that goes into the rear of the locking mech and the car will now lock manually, so think it must be faulty?
anybody know how much a complete new osf door lock mech/catch will be( part that goes inside the drivers door)

Have you tried just moving the striker plate inwards slightly?

what will that do? it seems to be an electrical problem as the door locks then opens up straight away again and the door open light is on the dash,
your quite welcome to come down and have a lock at it mate

Not had the problem myself Bobby, but ive seen threads before. You'll notice there is no push button to tell the electrics the door is open or closed. If the striker plate is slightly off then the door open light will always be on. I don't know if the electrics get involved but if so it might be stopping the car locking? Its something you can try yourself for free before you go and buy anything.

Bobby, I may have a door locking mechanism knocking about in the garage. Let me know if interested and I will try to dig it out!
