Unhappy Help! Front tyres, inside wear!

    Hi there

Forgive me this is my first post and im new to this

I have i vectra 52 2.2 sxi and had the front tyres replaced in feb this year and noticed that that they were both very worn on the inside, so i had the tracking done at the same time.

Just had a recent service and noticed they are wearing on the inside again

Does anyone have any ideas of why this might be happening or any ideas on how to fix it!

Any help would be usefull, Cheers

Typiclaly incorrect tyre pressures will not cause this type of wear; either
both outside edges or middle of tread

Inside edge wear can be caused by a number of factors including :
    incorrect toe, camber, and/or castor
    suspension chatter
variable power steering, typically from roundabouts

Most likely is incorrect camber from the rear as it is both tyres
Sadly it is a cumulative effect, most likely caused from late swapping of the rears to the fronts
Alternatively the toe on the front is incorrect, and as above is cumulative if the rear camber is also incorrect, accelerating the wear in the same place

First course of action is new tyres replacing the worn fronts, fitted to the rear, swapping the rears to the front and a four wheel alignment check and adjustment
If an adjustment is required, then another MUST be carried out again at 1000 miles, and further one when the front tyres wear out

However, providing the tyres are down to the legal minimum evenly across the centre of the tread then there is nothing to worry about
    I
've just had my front tyres replaced today, the nearside tyre was also clearly worn on the indside edge, but the tracking was found to be correct and no adjustment was required
At the last change the nearside tyre had worn on the outside edge, so my car is suffering from "variable power steering, from roundabouts"
This is typical if you live somewhere with a lot of roundabouts (especially a new town like Milton Keynes, East Kilbride, Cumbernauld, Glenrothes, etc)

    Another Plymouth member..excellent.
Are you going to watch the supergreens tomorrow?

Tyres, depends on several factors. Do you drive hard? Which tyres do you have?
There will be a reason for your wear, Could be misalignment, wear or damage.
Have you had the Vec long? Do you know its history?

    Cheers

Maybe the lowering has thrown the front camber out then
Where do you go to get it checked?

I can recommend Ridgeway Tyres in Plympton and Stadium Garage by the Cherry Tree pub.

    Cheers
