Sean. It is buried somewhere very deep down inbetween the Two Vee Banks. I belive it is not a five minute job, as you have to dig very deep to find it. Unless you are good with spanners I would get a garage or a mechanic mate to do it for you.

Hi Sean - would you believe, since we last spoke, my rear valve cover on the front bank of cyclinders is letting oil by .

Thought I'd have a go myself but, after following the "How to" for a 3.2 plug change, gave up as I couldn't get the plenum chamber undone, let alone take it off. This you also need to do to get to the t.stat.

My problem ssems to be that the plenum is held on my 6 bolts. Only one is visible and the other 5 need a a torx bit on an extension. Can't remember what size Torx (T30 I think) but when attached to a 3/8" extension drive, the extension is too big to go in the holes. I've got a 1/4" extension which is fine, but my T30 is only for a 3/8" drive.

So I've given up and it's going to an indy garage next week. Have been quoted around £150 and that's to do all four gaskets as no doubt the others will give up at some time. VX wanted £328 + Vat and wanted to fit new valve covers as they claim the old ones can warp. (Bull S???)

Labour times are akin to changing the plugs @ 0.9 hours so you may as well consider doing the plugs, thermostat and valve covers as well given the amount of work to remove the plenum.
