    Default engine swap

    hello guys (and ladies) new to site so be gentle. got a 2 ltr dti engine code y20dth. it went bang two weeks ago and its terminal. i,ve sourced an engine out of a vectra b, same engine code. will this fit my car or not ? i know i,ll need to change the diesel pump and maybee the wiring is slightly different? any knowledge on the subject would be great.

    Someone was messing around with 2.0 DTi's a few months ago mate, ask admin if they can edit the title to include this and you've more chance of someone having a nosey aound...

    You would need your pump as there coded to the car I believe. The last guy who did the swap had big problems just from the pump alone. Thats my little 2ps worth mate, as Penfold said the title could do with a change to get more interest.

    I am on my 3rd y22dtr engine everytime just changed pumps and no other problems

    hi mate yes they fit as ive put a vec b into a vec c just change pump fly wheel couple of bits but they do fit 100%

    It's quite simple, all you need from the Vectra B is just the engine itself. Bin the Vectra B managment and the ancillaries.

    Once you have removed your own engine, swap over all the hardware and ancillaries from your knackered engine to the replacement and drop it back in. There won't be any wiring modifications as your using your existing management system from the Vectra C.
