    Unhappy help please

    just looked at front wheels as somthing knocking on drive so needed to look at what is catching and found fluid/oil....
    took these pics from the drivers side front wheel.


    so now all im seeing is ££££££££ is it a drive shaft or somthing else any one know., and how much it is going to cost to sort, got mot in 2 week.

    Thats the driveshaft inner CV joint boot split. If your lucky the joint may be OK and just require a new boot fitting. Would think about £50 fitted from an independant garage.

    but get it done quick or else it will dry out and cost you even more...

    Just read your post again, sounds like you need a new joint if its knocking.

    if it is knocking will it be expensive, also (hoping it's not) can having coilovers fitted have caused it.

    If it is a "stuffed" CV joint try it on full lock you might find there is a rumbling noise. Unless you have been driving it for quite a while I doubt it if it is the CV joint, that is making the noise. On the wifes Vectra B the driveshaft gaitor split and there was quite a lot more greas splattered about than on your photo. But I spotted it qiuckly and replaced it and there was no noise and the CV is still ok now.
