Default 14.5V to the cig lighter

Hi all, was checking which was +ve and -ve to my cig lighter and found i have 14.5V across it. Does this sound high to you guys? I was expecting it to be below 13V. If it is high is it an issue and what could be causing it?

    Thank you

    Stephen

This will be correct with the engine running. Double check by measuring the voltage of the battery.

Presumably the engine was running at the time? In which case it's spot on!
