    Default HELP. Struggling to Start

Ive noticed recently the car is struggling to start.

It seems to happen more often when cold and when parked on a slope where the back is lower than the front.

This afternoon it to around 10 turnovers, and then another attempt of 3or 4 turns before it would start.

I dont think its the battery as it turned over ok and didnt seem to struggle..

    Any ideas guys n gals.

    Diet - look through http://www.vectra-c.com/forum/showthread.php?t=59573

I've got the 2.2DTi and had starting issues, everyone says "don't park uphill" which actually is true, and on mine I can't let the fuel in the tank get below 1/4 tank.

I think changing the leak off pipes is the first and cheapest thing to do, I did attempt to do this but it looked way to fiddly ie: tightly fit in tiny gaps, so thought I may cause more of a leak than fix!

Three weeks ago I was down to 1/4 tank, and on a slight incline, and it wouldn't start, nearly killed my battery, but as suggested on here I got my mate to tow me down the road, clutch up in second gear and within 25' it started!!! Straight down the local Esso to fill up and not caused any trouble since.

Being a 2002 diesel when I bought it I assumed it was built in the 21st Century....

Cheers mate.. I will try parking downhill 2moro and see if that works Then it will be a case of looking round the leak off pipes and seeing if there is any gunk etc etc

Try replacing the fuel filter housing cover.

Ok had a good look roudn the leak off pipes.. all clean and no signs of leaks etc.

Basically if the car is left for a few hours it wont start the first time u try.. It keeps turning over but never 'fires' up Doesnt matter how long i let it turn over for.

Yet, when i go for another try again it starts up on the first or second turn over...

Any More ideas what it could be?

Sounds like classic glow plugs...try ignition on for 5 secs, off and key out then ing on again and see that helps. Not sure if the cold start circuit is timed though.
