    Default urgent help please for a newby

    hi, just bought my signum 1.9cdti 150 bhp 55plate new shape. a light on dash of picture of car with spanner has come on and puts me into limp mode. took it to local garage they plugged it in and got 4 faults(codes).

    p0100 came up twice
    p0380
    p1901
    said i would have to book car back in as he didnt have a clue which way to go thought it good be a bad earth on ecu ect and said he would have to trace.Can anyone give me any pointers in the right direction as just spent £400 on timing belt kit and 2 new front shocker springs and only bought car last week and beginning to wish i hadnt many thanks in advance.

    Code: P380 Glow Plug circuit (wiring, glowplug fuse or ecm)
    Code: P1901 Exhaust Gas Pressure sensor (wiring, sensor or ecm)
    Code: P0100 Mass or Volume Air Flow Circuit Malfunction

    thanks for the quick reply. are you saying i need to replace all the parts or could 1 be faulty and triggering the others what would be my best coures of action thanks

    Glow plug fault could be a faulty plug or it could be the wiring rubbing against gearbox housing,just double check all wiring make sure its all ok and check the fuse.Code P1901 relates to the Gas sensor check that the wiring is ok if its ok it may need replaced and you may find once you have dealt with that the P0100 code might go away.
    There's a post HERE with the same faults codes as yours and they say to clean EGR valve and check your cat so it might be worth doing this

    thanks bigmac i cleaned the egr this morning was full of carbon but not done the cat.ive never hand any dealings with cat before.just booked it in at auto elecs tomorrow morning.Hate going though as i always feel iam being ripped off.Carnt seem to find many tech2 in manchester so will keep fingers crossed thanks again

    i took off air flow meter off and car ran worse so iam hoping thats fine,it starts in morning fine glow plug light goes out after 3 secs and starts.could the gas sensor have anything to do with cat and poss blockage thanks

    From reading other posts yes,either sensor is faulty or there's a blockage sending out wrong readings

    Had car to tech 2 guy today,he put my faults down to partical filter or sensor but would not say 100%. so i took car home and took off cat and clean out with jet wash and cleaner.took car out for a spin did 20miles and guess what car light on dash came back on and back into limp mode.Charged me £45 for first hour and now going to have to take it back tomorrow.the car for the first 20 miles was running brill drove it in 3 gear at 65miles per hr, like ive read on forum.I have two problems what now could it be? sensor? filter? what? and the tech 2 guy now wants £40 per hour to carrie on guessing what it could be at my expense,and to top it all iam off dowm to london for 2 weeks working and need car.Can any one help as i now wish id kept my mg zt cdti and never set eyes on this signum. rant over. someone help please.

    Well if you have no blockage in cat i would try sensor,iirc its about £40-£50 according to a thread i read sorry don't know much about it tbh but by the sounds of it they are just guessing and you are doing the same so best bet would be to replace sensor and see where you go from there,and make sure you check wires for any breaks or points where its earthing (rubbing against body)

    Wanted to give an update, had the car back with tech 2 man today.He cleared faults and then did cat regen.Said sensor was now reading correct voltage and told me to take her out for a spin did 40miles at all speeds and no light has come on or limp mode so seems to have cured.Iam not holding my breath but will update again when ive travelled down to london on sunday.
    He did say driving car at 65mph for 45mins in 3 gear would have not worked as another post as said on the forum,also that you could only do 1 regen but iam not sure if right or wrong.Car now drives like a dream first time in a week of owning it ive had a smile.
