    Default Brake pads 2.2DTi

Afternoon, a colleague of mine has an 03 plate 2.2DTi SXi. He recently had the front brake pads replaced at Kwik Fit and ever since he's getting the brake pad warning light on the dash. Kwik Fit assure him that they've checked the sensor and that the new pads are fine. He doesn't know if genuine GM pads were fitted or not.

Anyone know if this is down to the pads used or does something need resetting via the Tech2

    Thanks

Probably the sensor m8, they are apparently quite fragile.

Na, they are nothing to do with tech 2, it's simply a wire in a plastic sheath that wears away to put the light on, they either haven't put a new one on, or they have thrown the old one away and not replaced it, if he needs to have a look, it should be on the drivers side front caliper, if there's no wire going to the caliper then you will need to get one, I think motor factors do them now as well as Vx, if it is there still and worn, snip the end off and twist the two wires together to make the circuit again and tape it up and tuck it away.

I had this after a recent pad change, with some advice from the guys here I changed the sensor myself. It was about £10 from the stealer who said they carry a stock of these as they're so delicate. He said even their own Master**** fitters break them from time to time. It's really easy to change as well.
