Default Few questions about brake discs and pads on a 1.8LS

I drive a 53 plate Vectra 1.8LS and I recently had it serviced. Nothing major come up but I was given an advisory to replace my Front Discs and pads in about 2000 miles or so. Then assuming they're not having me on I need new ones, I'll check that come the weekend. I kinda upgrading to a larger diameter disc, but as i have 16" steels on, I think 314's are out the question for now. But I do wanna get some better than OEM stuff. I'd much rather be able to stop on a penny if needed .

    So:-

    1. (Assuming that I probably have 285's) Should I stick with 285's or go for 302's and will they fit?

    2. Any particular brand you guys recommend, for both pads and discs? I've heard EBC a lot around here.

    3. Will I need to change the calipers to get 302's on my car and if so, how much can I be looking at paying for them?

    4. Any place you can recommend me buying them from (cheap as poss please! )

I should be able to get my uncle fit them for me so dont worry about naming labour here.

Thanks for any help you can give lads.

Unfortunately I live in west london, bit of a trek for me :P

Edit: Didnt notice where he'd say he'd come and do it haha, anyway, still a trek for him lol.

If it wasn't for having steels i'd take him up on it, dont want him to come all that way and have them not fit lol.

For future reference guys, my space saver is a 16" steel wheel, and the models that come with the 314's as standard have the same spare wheel, and they do (just) fit over them. With the balancing weights for a steel wheel being on the outside, the size issue shouln't be a problem. With 16" alloys however, if it has the weights on the inside, then it could be a problem....

If it's opinions you're after - go for the 314's. I've got them on my 2.0T and think they're great.
