    Question Servicing!!

Hi chaps hope ur all ok, as far as i can tell my car is on the flexi service mode. it needs sevicing 2 years or 30k miles. i am now on about 24500 now when i turn the ignition on it comes up withthe service can and it says 1000 which im assuming it means 1000 miles till the service is due. now im not the best at maths but this tells me at 25500 miles it will need servicing not 30000!

correct, the flexi plan lets the engine monitor it's servicing needs according to use of the car and operating conditions..the 30k is a max mileage figure..25k isn't that bad IMO..

it's just telling you that's it's time to go in..

personally, i'd never leave any car of mine that long thou, ours get serviced at least every 6 months or 6k miles.. they last forever then..

    At a Stealers??

Four arms and 3 legs.. and that's just for the oil and filters..

Prices vary from dealer to dealer..all depends on how 'keen' they are to get you in the door..don't expect to get away with less than £100..

30,000 seems a lot of mileage for a new car to cover before having a service what happened to to old fashioned 500 mile (showing my age i think) service that flushed out all the bits of metal in the oil that occur during the engine running in process, i read my service book for my 150 cdti vectra and read in it somewhere that the cdti engine has shorter oil changes 15,000 i thought i saw anybody got their book handy can explain to me

I know what you mean..gone is the 500 mile oil change service.. i don't know if they make the engines with more of a mind for internal cleanliness to keep the dirt/crug out, but even then there is still bedding in swarf generated..

The service interval is 20k for the CDTi's..the link is to page 10 of the vauxhall brochure..

    http://www.vmproductforum.co.uk/serv...c6.5.2spec.pdf

If you're on ecoflex thou it may pass this figure..But as above, i'd never leave it anywhere near that long..

    Hi

CDTi Service = 30,000 miles or 2 years on EcoFlex. however if you have a DPF (Diesel Particulate filter) then the interval is 15,000 miles or 1 year

I have a CDTi without DPF and had mine serviced after a year and then reset my indicator for 30K miles

whats a Diesel Particulate filter look like then?, is there an easy way to see if my car has one, i suspect its another exhaust box,
I'm a mechanic and mot tester but never heard if it, i knew i read in the service book something about shorter servicing intervals.
