Default Do the two go together?

Okay so accelerating to join the motorway yesterday and at 60mph in 4th gear the car went into limp home mode. Turn the engine of and on again and it resets but accelerate hard and it goes back to limp home mode.

Even when not in LHM, following this incident yesterday the car lacks ooomph, there is no power behind the acceleration.

Now I know I need to get the codes read, which I will have to do but...for a couple of months now I have not been able to get the car to blow hot air from the vents, only cold - I havent bothered about it because I havent needed hot air during the summer.

I am just wondering if the lack of hot air and now LHM if they could be connected and if there is something specific I could look for under the bonnet. I am thinking split/broken pipe?! But dont know where to look.

    Any ideas? Cheers

    hi Darren,

dont forget the delf disagnosis mode with the brake pedal might save you having the codes read

suspect there is a split/blown turbo pipe somewhere forcing the car into limphome mode - dont suspect the two faults are linked ?
if you open the bonnet and rev the car "hard" to 3-4rpm can you hear anything over the engine sound (wooshing or air escaping)

    regarding the second fault....
maybe the heater thermostat is broken and thats causing the internal heating faults ?

    good luck in the diagnosis

edit ** strangely enough barrymanelow87 posting similar problems on the same engine on here today as well - sounds like his fault might be his mass air flow sensor *
