Default New Weekend Vehicle - Video...

...A John Deere 7830. Sorry if you were expecting a car, but its always good to see something different. The reason im driving this is because my dads a farmer and each year i usually go down there to help because sometimes they get behind with harvest ect. Usually i get stuck with whatever tractor is free, but this year ive been given the use of this almost brand new one, so thought id share a few pics, and a video with you guys (also this is why i had to rush off from the RR day on sunday). This tractor has a bluetooth handsfree radio system, aircon and a little fridge for keeping cans cool. This is probably about £100k worth of machine here but thats only a guess. The tyres alone are £800 each to replace!!!

Last weekend I was cultivating with a Kuhn 6m power harrow which is an awsome machine that folds up for transporting. The land had been used for growing beans, harvested and then flatlifted by my dad (which involves using an even more powerful tractor to cut into the hard soil and then roll over it) and then cultivated by me, so no need for ploughing. It can then be seed drilled.

CLICK HERE FOR VIDEO (please ignore the bling sound in the middle, it was my fone getting a text)

And finally a couple of pics of it late on sunday evening...

Ha Ha, yeah we do go in the field sometimes, we just done like getting them dirty lol

Although we always do try to pull over when theres cars behind but weve seen some near misses when people overtake. The one above wouldnt be allowed on the road without an escort though because its much wider then one lane of the road.

I had one eejit going down towrads Evesham the other week, although it was his trailer that was wdier & in other lane. one truck came towards him, i thought he'd got it, but the truck scrubbed the kerb to miss it.
He also refused to pull over, more than 20 cars behind me, & he still drove passed 3 lay-by's!!

Do these defintely need an escort to be on the road Matt?

One of the local farms has a few of these. (Actually only appeared in the last month or so) and they never have any kind of escort. The guy driving one yesterday even had a mobile stuck to his ear.

Quite a light show from a distance though.

I got passed him when i got chance but he wsn't pulling in, I did "salute" him, i am sure everyone else did too.
This is the worst i have ever had it, tbh, i am considerate & know they have a job to do too.
I have actually been chased years ago by a tractor through the lanes, dunno what he'd got but i was in a van thru twisties couldn't lose him, doing 45mph!!

Hi steve. They do need an escort but by that I mean some other vehicle to drive infront with lights on or flashing lights to warn oncoming traffic. This can be a truck or even another tractor. The police do need to escort anything bigger than about 4 metres wide though. If your caught without one then I'm sure its dangerous driving or something but same rules apply for talking on mobiles even in tractors.

It does look good at night when we have 3 in a row in a field with all the lights on lol.

Wow he must have been having a really bad day. Must have been one of those small JCB tractors, they're pretty fast. Good thing you didn't have to brake hard because tractors done stop that easily!

Cheers Matt. The ones in the village are on their own. No escort of any description.
