    Default Recall number 09-R-025, VXR

Phoned the dealer today to check, and my VXR does indeed fall within the VIN number range to have this rework done. Its the saga of the splitting coolant header tank. So, in it will go this Thursday and will get them to check that the software on the car is up to date, prior to my little visit to Courtenay in November

I'll get the VIN number range from them tomorrow and post it up so people with VXR's can check if theirs may be due the rework

get your recall sorted as quickly as possible - the dealer has a duty of care to recity any works notified by vx as quickly as possible .....

BUT the onus is also on the vehicles keeper to have the works completed as well as soon as practicable having being notified by the manufacturer.... some marques (not mentioning any names) are using this as a get out of jail free card - having been notified of an outstanding recall if you fail to have the work completed and then a failure occurs thats causes subsequential damage to the vehicle -this will not be covered as you have failed to have the rectification work completed, when notified
they will still complete the recall BUT anything else would be down to you

so imagine if you will..... a saftey related recall - whereby a thermal incident MAY occur - you fail to have the work done -your car catches fire - your presented by the dealer with a wiring loom to go with the pile of ash that currently sits on your drive - recall ticked as complete

0-Large smile ......every time it's driven
