    Default Possible causes

had my 04 1.9 cdti vec (120) in 2 garages from last wk. it went into limp mode last monday on way to work left it all day drove home fine then later that night went out n after 3 miles limp mode again,

1st garage diagnosis mite be fuel pump then next day dont have a clue

2nd garage put it on diagnostic machine n no faults appeared

when i started it drivers indicator light came on n stayed on n brake lights wer lighting up different wen i braked so got that fixed, guy from garage said sumthing about maybe loose wiring was causing brake lights to come on n causing car to think it was breaking n trippin sumthing making it go into limp mode

could this be true or is he jus talking out his butox?

drove the car for 3 miles on way home n was fine will take it out longer tonite to see if it happens again

1: Have you checked for any split hoses,

2: Is there not a brake actuator switch under the pedal, maybe this is is knackered and needing replaces, if its causing the lights to come on
have you checked for any faulty earth connections, have you installed anything lately electrically maybe ?

Check the engine earth leads, and while you're at it the battery terminals. Bad engine earth can cause all sorts of weird problems.
