Default Wing Mirror - Fault! any ideas?

    Hi All

Just noticed that when selecting the button for the left wing mirror it works fine!.... (up/down/left/right)

but when I select the right button, and try to adjust the right mirror, it moves both the left and right at the same time!

Is this a common fault? anyone else had this? simple fix?

    thanks guys!!!!

Not a fault, it's how it's meant to do it. A good number of threads on it on here.

Basically you set your mirrors by having the switch on the right and adjust the right mirror (ignore what the left one is doing), then press the left switch and get your left mirror sorted. Now both are adjusted. Press the right switch and the idea is that if someone else drives the car then they just push the left/right button and both mirrors move inwards/outwards at the same time by the same amount therefore adjusting the mirrors in one go.

    Simples.

Have you changed your door modules? Fitted folding mirrors etc? On pre-face the normal one button/one mirror is what is normal, on facelift it's as you have described - but if a module etc. has been changed on a pre-face it will then usually change to the different way.

    Hi Duncan..

No, nothing changed at all, but as the wife uses the car to go shopping in i often have to chnage the mirrors, seat, etc... and for the last year i havnt noticed.

Its probably my lack of observation, i will admit, that last week i did change both mirrors to my preferred position and didnt notice then, hence my comment.

Learn something new every day!... lol

You probably changed the drivers side one first, not noticing the passenger side one moving as well. Then set up the passenger one afterwards.

This time I imagine you did it the other way around, ie passenger side first, then drivers side.
