confused Remote Key Fob Question... Aarrgghhh!!

Like a muppet, I've lost one of my remote control keyfob blipper thingy-ma-jigs, and need a spare. My local Vauxhall dealer wants to take my pants down, bum me hard and fast, and then run off with £140 before letting me have a replacement keyfob (the same dealer that couldn't give a monkey's toss about me until they smell the inside of my wallet - then they become my best-ever friend etc)

I've noticed lots of replacement keyfobs on fleabay, but if I buy one, it will still need re-programming to work with my car. Is there a way of getting it re-programmed without having to line the deep pockets of my local Vauxhall stealer? In other words, I would rather pay an independent Vauxhall specialist to do it than stand waiting for 25 minutes at the dealer parts reception waiting for the man with a tea-stained shirt and no smile to serve me?

As you can tell, I'd rather pay £140 to see my Granny pole dance in a tight leotard than give my hard earned cash away.

PS - has anyone seen my Granny recently?

    Cheers

Lol. I'm interested in hearing if there is an alternative to the dealer option. I was quoted £100 all in for a new key fob.

Unlike earlier fobs, the chip isn't visible in the Vec-C fobs. I'm guessing its mounted on the PCB board somewhere.

Hi mate, I have the equipment to program keys in, think I've also got a couple of nearly new fobs some where, as well as H section key blanks,
how many buttons does your fob have.
