New Car. How long for V5 to come back from DVLA

Anyone know how long it takes the DVLA to send your log book (V5) when you buy a car.

Bought a BMW 3 weeks ago from a BMW dealer, and they said the V5 would come to me direct from DVLA. Nothing arrived yet, how long does it normally take. ?

I think with my previous cars its arrived within a few days.

For me, normally takes a couple of weeks, but they can take upto 4 weeks dependant on how busy they are. It will come mate.

i expect there will be a slight back log with the new 59 registrations from the beginning of the month and old cars being traded in etc- my dad bought a car 3 weeks ago and got his last saturday ? - also depends when the dealer posted off the segment as well

You may also need to take recent Postal strikes into account
The normal processing time is up to 6 weeks
After 4 weeks contact DVLA and ask for a progress update
