Default 2.2dti engine problems and limp mode

Just to set the picture I got my car serviced last weekend by VX.

Whilst driving to Croyde (800mile round trip) the service light came on with the big spanner and the car went into limp mode. I pulled over and turned the engine on/off and off we went again.

Then it did it again and seemed to be everytime I tried to accelerate in 5th then it happened in 4th and then 3rd

On the way home today must have happened 20 times and I ended up just switching the engine as I was driving and then flicking it back on and problem resolved.

Anyone have any ideas what it could be or whether VX tampered with something as its never happened before the service

    Cheers

hmmm, have you checked all plugs are plugged in?? sounds like the split boost pipe problem but i have very limeted knowledge and they are much better people on here.

Mine did a similar thing when I put a filter in, so it could also be MAF sensor.

Check boost hoses and the little rubber vacumm pipes as these have a habit of splitting

As said before check your vacuum hoses are not split or more than likely that they have been put back securely and in the right place ( the dealer i took mine to got it wrong and reversed the hoses ) which gave me the same problem as you are suffering.
