    Default Injector seals!!

    Hi guys,

I need my injector seals replaced, as of now if i leave the car for a 24 hours plus period the car struggles to start, have to crank it quite abit before it starts, fortunatly day to day starting is not a problem

the leak off pipes were replaced but the problem remains, the fuel filter housing seems ok to me, so i suppose its time to change the injector seals. I found a rough guide to change them but i dont feel comfortable messing about with the cam shaft and err stuff

so is anyone in the northwest region up for changing leak off pipes? or anyone know of a reputable garage that can do so for good price? ( around northwest)

so far i have been quoted £60 !! on the low end but i dont think i can trust this mechanic... he said he has changed injector seals on the older vectra but hasnt touched the new one yet... i suppose if its similar he cant do much harm? ??

Ive also been quoted £220 from the diesel specialists in bury but i think thats way to high...?

    any comments welcome!

hello siz 60.00 is to cheap for the job to be done properly but if the other place quoted you 220 if its including gaskets and seals etc thats not to bad will take about 2-3 hours to do.

This is a guide i found on replacing the injector seals

    http://myweb.tiscali.co.uk/mozzer/ho...ectorseals.pdf

to me this does not look like a 2.0 dti engine on a vectra c, maybe its a vectra b? if it is a vectra b will it be similar in principle?

i am eagerly awaiting a reply!

Leak off pipes changed... INJECTOR SEALS replaced, and still back to square one!! , total waste of money !!!

just to explain the problem again, Car has a starting problem if left for more than 16 hours, otherwise starts first time...

now depending how much diesel i have in the tank the longer it starts up first time. For example if its full tank it will fire up after even after 30 hours of being parked up, if its empty tank 12 hours and it will keep on cranking until all the air is bleeded out!!

had this problem since i bought the car, but neva really had issues since i use the car daily. But when i went on holiday it was a nightmare to come back to, so needed the problem resolved, i thought leak off pipes would do it, but unfortunatly it hasnt, i thought surely expensive injector seals will but no!

what are my options... ? non return valve on the fuel line? already checked fuel filter housing and it seems to be fine..

If its definitely a fuel drain back system get them to perform a pressure test. They can create a vacuum from various sources and then trace out where the air is escaping/getting in, gonna be deffo the way to go.

How are you parking the car? My 2.2DTI loses the will to live if I park it facing up my drive for very long. A few days and it's totally drained the fuel lines. A low tank will make it worse. I now park the car facing down, problem solved

    hi mate,

you have got the same problem as me, i too managed without a problem for a year, but when i got back from holiday it was a nightmare to start, before that i was ill for a week and same problem, so i do need it sorted and pumped alot of money to resolve it.

I need the problem sorted before i sell it, i know if i full tank it and sell it i could get away with it but i could not live with that on my conscience, i myself put up with it for a year but i would definatly sort it out for someone else before i sell it
