    Default Autovaux ??? genuine ??

Ok after reading all the good things regarding Autovaux at Wakefield, and my cdti due it s third service, i thought id get the required parts ready for my auto mechanic to then come to my house and fit them.
I was under the impression that they sold genuine VX parts, obviously cheaper than VX. So i phoned them last week explained i wanted all the service parts for my car etc. Then the following afternoon i went to pick them up. Now not being up on servicing i asked if theses were the parts i needed and the guy said yes. I noticed hed only gave me the half synthetic oil, and reading on here about the fully synthetic oil i asked him to change it. Ok £64 sounded good paid and went on my merry way.
So today my mechanic came through and i gave him the parts, he then told me they were NOT genuine VX parts, now ive i misread things on here, should the guy of asked me if i wanted genuine parts or at least have told me they wasnt. Just wondered what your thoughts were, and letting people know that go there expecting to always ask.
Oh yeah and when he came to change the oil he asked me about a sump plug, that i hadnt been given, is that a service part, as he said it should always be changed when its been removed ???

They are confusing to buy from, they will only sell you original GM parts if you specificaly ask for them. If you dont ask you get the cheap aftermarket stuff.

I always use LMF or the dealers.

sump plug isnt a servicable item but the sump plug seal is ....but the sump plug on a 1.9 can round when removed so it is best to have a spare just incase ......i have seen parts autovaux sell and they only have ever been none gen i have no idea if they sell genuine aswell .....

Depends on what parts you order....The fully synthetic oil is genuine and about £15 cheaper than the dealers (5L). If they are not genuine they will be OEM parts, not just any cheap rubbish.

Most of the time its the same stuff in different boxes, I've worked at a Vauxhall dealer and a motor factors and if you take away the packaging your left with the same thing.

this is true, however, in these difficult times a lot of factors/parts specialists are buying in some real cheap crap! so personally i'd be very wary....
