    Default V6 Cam Belt Intervals

    Hi all

Can anyone tell me when the recommended service interval is for a cam belt replacement on the 3.2 V6 engine please. I got it replaced at 90k miles and I'm now on 114k miles. Someone has told me every 30k, which means it's due soon but a Vauxhall technician I know has told me every 80k, which I find hard to believe.

On this occasion, VX are correct. I rang four garages and VX Luton and all said 80k miles.

But I wouldn't leave it that long, maybe 40-60k? Did mine at 58k and the old one looked fine - even VX techy said it had loads of life left.

At the end of the day, your decision mate.

I've got the VX Service Schedule in front of me...
Check which model year your car is
    Y32SE

    Point 11
Replace toothed belt and tension roller
    MY2001 to MY 2002 - 4 years / 40K miles
    MY2003 onwards - 8 years / 80K miles

However, many people half the cambelt interval, due to the poor relliability of VX poly rollers

Thank you. Mine is a Z32SE not Y32SE - Registered March 2003. Which one would that be?

Most of us oldies from the Omega V6 stable just stick with the 4 years/40,000miles option. It's not so much based on the belt, more the tensioner.

Good advice, followed this on my old 2.5 Veccy B, I honestly think vx have boobed here, I too have had varying responses from stealers when I've rung up in the past.

    That's odd, Z32SE doesn't appear at all
It doesn't appear anywhere between 2002 and 2007
