    Default What are these wires?

Probably covered before, but i have tried searching and cant find the answer.

Behind my glove box to the right hand side (part of the stereo loom?) there are two connectore. One only with 2 wires one with about 6 ( I will try take pics in a bit). I think one might be to do with haveing a car kit, if so which and what is the other onw.

Any help much aprecaited and if need i will post up pics in a bit.

    Cheers

If you have a connector for a phone kit it is found here. It's a black 18-pin connector - 2 rows of 9 pins each - and has a grey locking clip around it that locks it onto the car kit connector that you plug into it. It's on quite a long cable - just about reaches across to the other side of the glovebox opening.

I know this is an old thread but does anybody have a pin diagram for this plug as I have just found it and whoever owned the car before me has left some push on connectors in the butchered wiring (presumably from an old install they did themselves) and just curious as to what they all do...

Also found some fairly heavy gauge cabling running front to back lol... Anybody into ICE installs ever owned my vec? **52 FKV

Here are the pins on the VDA connector if that's what you mean. Sounds like you have the same problem I had - VDA connector butchered by previous owner to fit car kit instead of using proper adaptor cable.

Some pictures would be useful if you need any further help so we can see exactly what you are referring to.
