Just a note to say hello to all.

I've been a member since late March this year but haven't posted because...

Originally I was going to buy Cyb's car but for various reasons (all of which were down to me - mainly insurance what with all the mods fitted) it didn't happen. So the original delay was because I was waiting to introduce myself as the new owner of Cyb's old car.

Anyway, since then, I've still been on the look out (and thought it better to wait until I actually had a 'C' although there are 'B' drivers on here as well) and have now got a 55 reg. 2.2 direct SRi from my local Vx dealer. Picked it up last Wednesday evening. So far so good. Seems quite nippy (figures are 8.6 and 135 in the brochure). Also, believe it or not the rfl and insurance are cheaper than my Vectra 'B' and fuel economy seems pretty good as well.

For info, I used to drive a 'B' 2.0 CD which my wife now has and am also a member of vectra-sport and vvoc.

Originally found out about this site from the honestjohn website and I must say that I really like it here.

PS - does anyone know where the Vectra 'C's are made?

PPS - do have other experience of driving 'C's most notably having put approx. 1000 miles on a Facelift 'C' SRi 1.9 CDTi 150 hire car during a recent business trip (great car to drive with superb performance and ended up showing 55mpg on the ave mpg display which I don't think anyone could complain about).

Welcome to the site - I was also in the hat for cyb's car - but couldn't sell mine in time - ne' mind...

Thanks for the welcome everyone. I will do some pics asap but since I picked the car up on Wednesday it has either hardly stopped raining or I've had lots to do. Going down to Cornwall tomorrow for a week. Hope the weather is going to improve.

Btw, It's completely bog standard at present in Silver Lightning. Seems to be getting an ever more popular colour for Vauxhalls in general. Not sure what you sporting types think of it. Silver or black seems to be the colour of choice.

Mods on previous 'B' were 16" softstars, 3.5 pipe mod, irmscher twin square exit s/s b/box, and Irmscher clear side repeaters. Did have a K&N panel filter on for a while but changed it back to the standard one.

Still can't find anyone who can say what factory Vectra 'C's are made in. There used to be a site where you could enter your VIN and find out some production details about the car. My last one for e.g. was bulit in Russelheim in Germany. However, I can't remember what the url was.
