Default Stripping and rebuilding a headlight ?

I've scratched the glass on my VXR front offside headlight

I've polished it up a bit so it looks better, but its still not perfect.

    I noticed this on ebay

    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/VAUXHALL-VECTR...d=p3286.c0.m14

How easy do you think it would be to strip the outer glass part and replace it ?

I've read about people putting mondeo lights in the oven to get them open and turn the chrome bits black like on the SRI vec so wondering how hard it would be.

Large picture of the scratch here

bloke living across the road from me collects old army trucks. He's got a massive 20 foot ammo carrier truck and its got massive grab handles at the back for climbing up on it.

He usually puts it on his drive but that day he left it on the road, tryed to squeeze past it as i was swinging round and just caught the edge. It only just slightly caught it, hence it just scratched it rather than breaking it.

Annoys me now but not enough to pay £400 or whatever for a new headlight.

that wont be for the HID one for the VXR though. I hate to think how much a VXR xenon headlight is.
