Default Fitting HID's. Where the hell do you put the ballast?

As per the subject title. Bought the following kit:-

    www.hids4us.co.uk/h7.htm

Plenty of room on the passenger side for the ballast, but where the hell do you fit it on the drivers side? No room as the air filter and AC pipes are all in the way.

I don't want to just *lob* it in there somewhere and think "that'll do". It would haunt me every time I were to open the bonnet and see it bodge cable tied somewhere. I like to take pride in anything I install.

    Thanks.

I've got mine stuck under the headlight, theres a small cap where it just fits in perfectly between the light and the chassis.

Mine are bolted to one of the airbox screws, with the cancelors stuck under the slam panel.

No cancellors with this kit. Built into the ballast box apparently.

Should have mentioned this is a facelift Vectra-C, if that makes any difference.

I contemplated fitting it to the airbox, but come service time I don't want it to be in the way when the garage change the filter, nor let them damage it if they have to move it to change the filter.

I will have to remove the offside headlight to see what space there is available behind it. Last time I changed the bulbs I got away with partially lifting up the air filter box. I don't fancy losing the skin off the back of my hand a second time.

I emailed the company who supplied it and asked for suggestions as well.

They advised fitting the ballasts under the headlights. Best I go swot up removing the bumper in the how2 section.

Job done. Vauxhall even kindly supplied a place under the headlight for the ballast to fit. Secured in place with double sided foam tape and a cable tie. Removing the bumper was so much easier than removing the air box (as I did last time when I changed a halogen bulb) and no scratches on the back of my hands this time.

    Pics follow:-

Fitted 2 small self tappers to anchor the cable ties to:-
