Default Alternator knackered - which one do I need?

Just confirmed that my alternator is knackered. I have phoned a motor spares place who want to know what amp(s) alternator I need.

I can't find the oe part number and therefore am stuck!

Does anyone know what amps alternator I need for a:

Diesel Vectra 04 plate 1.9 cdti (150 PS)

    Cheers.

Phoned a stealer who had an 'exchange' alternator on the shelf for £248 + vat

I asked what amps it was and he said 100A. Does this sound right?

Battery is 70 AH so 100A charging is certainly adequate.

Think it all depends on what options you have on the car. think there are 3 types with 100A being middle of the range. Think they should be able to tell from your chassis number.
Plasma's Tech2 services are now open and able to provide services

Motor spares gave me 4 options . But stealers did say the one they had on the shelf for my chassis number was 100A.

I'll go for the 100A and cross my fingers!

    Thanks.

I changed my alternator this morning on a 04 plate 1.9 cdti (150PS). It took 2.5 hours in total but included lots of chatting and faffing around; 1st time I have done it.

If I had to do another one I am sure it can be done in about 1.5 hours, or less, with help. It is a relatively easy job, hardest parts were trying to get fuel filter crash box nuts off (crash box was moved to make it easier to get alternator out the top) and get cup of tea out of my brother's wife.

The alternator for a 04 plate 1.9 cdti (150PS) LS spec is 105 Amps.
