Default parrot 3200 ls colour problems please help

has anybody else here got a parrot 3200 ls colour fitted to their vectra c?

i got one fitted by carphone warehouse 3 weeks ago and it`s been nothing but trouble,so last week they came and removed it and fitted another and now this one is doing the exactly the same faults as the first one and not working properly

it`s fitted to one of my vec c`s a 2007 cdti with a cd30 radio

i`ve tried all sorts of nokia phones but it fails to work properly

6310i ( pairs up & syncs phonebook and calls, turn off ignition turn back on phone connects up but doesnt resync calls or load up phonebook ever until you delete the phone repair but all lost again after ignition switched off basically it fails to sync with this phone and dots going round do not appear)

6303 ( was a complete night mare this phone just constantly muted radio every 2 secs saying external in every 2 secs wouldnt snyc phonebook or calls little dots just kept spinning round forever and ever until parrot jammed )

6300 ( engineer tested with this phone on 2nd attempt phonebook and call lists sync`ed up he then left i go back to car later thinking all is fixed with 2nd unit but phone no longer syncs up no phonebook or call list little dots spin round for ever until eventually it frezzes and parrot is jammed until you switch ignition off,i have deleted this phone repaired but wont sync up phonebook or calls )

so there you have it has anyone had similar problems and cured it with these parrot 3200`s in vectra`s?

i have a parrot 3200 fitted to my 2009 skoda octavia and it works perfectly with all these phones first time every time this was installed on the same day by carephone warehouse

any help / advice gratefully recieved

Best thing I can suggest mate is to update the Parrot firmware then try again. If the kits that they have supplied are oldish stock, they may be missing some fixes/patches to iron out problems with these and other phones. A software update is the first thing I would do every time with a problem like this. Its the first thing that Parrot will ask you if you contact them too, ie "have you got the latest firmware update installed...?"

It's worth a try first mate. The website Parrot.biz has the instructions how to update the device using a bluetooth enabled laptop

    Good luck mate

cheers mate but have spent near on 2 hours on the phone to parrot trying to fix the first unit out which they couldn`t and said it must be faulty so has been replaced

the 2nd unit is doing the exact same faults it has the latest software version and is the exact same unit and version as my skoda and it works fine

could this be wired up wrong? either through the radio or the switched lives etc

it does say goodbye though when you switch ignition off and parrot says this should indicate correct wiring however it is alot slower at switching off in comparison to the skoda unit

    i`m stumped

Hmmm, in that case it's a curious one. The 'Goodbye' when switching off does indeed mean it 'should' be wired up correctly. I'm afraid it's gonna be one of those problems where I say I would have to see it to work out why. I fitted Rich's (Ditchp) parrot for him (ck3100 though) and that played silly burgers with his Nokia N95 but we got there in the end. Took longer to sort the pairing out than it did to fit the kit

Pity you aint a bit closer

i take it the unit has a permanant live feed from the cigarette lighter
and that the fused leads have been reversed - if not well worth a try

and when i got my mki9000 from cpwarehouse the firmware was nearly 6 months out of date -

i suspect the car kit is loosing its memory as its not wired in correctly which is causing the faults

Ive used a few of these while on the trucks, all i can say is they dont like certain makes and models of phones. For example my old works mobile would load the phonebook and my own phone would'nt and it was the same in all of there vehicles.

thanks guys will look into it

please note i have two of these installed and all the phones work perfectly with the other identical unit fitted the same day to a skoda so it is not the phones at fault although the carphone engineer keeps trying to tell me it is i`m not listening to that B.S the unit is wired wrong and i am convinced of it

ok another call to the engineer made to suggest to him it may be wired up wrong,he says no it isn`t so i will have to believe that given that he has over 5 years experience of fitting these units and has fiited lots of vectra`s he said with no issues

he said my unit isn`t fitted using an SOT lead but instead using an automute lead or something along those lines he says this draws the power from the radio that then takes that through a red box to the parrot and insists the unit has a permanent live

so i`m totally stumped and i think he is too why all these phones wont work

parrot themselves say the nokia 6300 is a GOLDEN phone with these kits and the parrot technical manager himself has a 6300 that works first time every time he says and i bought that phone after him advising me it was the best nokia for the kit but again it still wont work in this vectra

the only phone i`ve managed to get working is an n95 8gb by manually sending over contacts as a business card via bluetooth, switch off ignition, switch it back on to power parrot back up and the contact i sent is still there but it doesn`t sync up call list which i`m led to believe this phone wont anyway however does save calls you`ve made in the call list, recieved etc until you switch the parrot off then there gone

    yours faithfully frustrated parrot owner

oh nearly forgot the parrot jammed on goodbye last night for over 3 hours after locking car up it stayed illuminated aswell it only switched off by restarting the car and turning it off again grrrrrrrrr

I think you need to get on the phone and blow up at them mate. Its all well and good the engineer syaing its wired up correctly etc (which I don't doubt), but you've paid good money for equipment and fitting service and it aint right. They owe you mate

    gary,

the engineer says the techincal manager for the carphone warehouse is visiting scotland tommorow and says he we call me when he arrives to bring the car over to them when he visits,20 miles away i might add however i will happily do this if it finally fixes this vectra out

so fingers crossed for a repair tommorow,he says he will recheck all the wiring at the time and have the technical manager check the install over aswell for his input as to what the fault may be

if tommorow the unit isn`t repaired i have told the engineer i want it deinstalled and a full refund issued as i don`t want an expensive ornament fitted to my vectra that is useless
