    Default Tents

    Anyone know anything about tents.

I have an Outwell Montana 6, had it for a few years and have done quite a bit of camping in it.

We went to Devin the other week and caught the tail end of the tropical storm and discovered a few leaks around the seams. So once home in the glorious weather this week I have got some seam sealer on the go.

The tent was up last night with no one sleeping in it, and it rained a little and there was some morning dew, when I went inside the tent and ran my hand across the roof it was wet, when I slapped the roof a load of drips dropped to the floor and not from the seams.

It is almost like the droplets are coming through the fabric, I always put this down to condensation and the temperature difference between the inside and outside, and with it being a single skin tent.

Do I have a problem with it then ??

    Hope this made sense

    Cheers

Yep, that's condensation as you say and down to it being a single skin.

I don't think you have a problem, the water inside is probably condensation caused by the temperature drop during the night.
What type of fabric is it? If it is the nylon type and you never had any vents open this could account for the moisture inside.
The alternative is to re-waterproof the fabric there are various types of waterproofing and methods of applying it. It is not difficult and can be done quite easily.
