Default Car I sold to get my veccy

This was what I've owned for the last 18 months until last month.

Lovely to drive but desperately in need of a 6th gear. Searched for ages to find this particular car as it had the Pirates Black paint, low miles and optional air con. Dyno'd at 239bhp with a few bolt ons, the vtec crossover was mental.

Getting old is probably the simplest answer.

I suppose I got a bit tired of the engine screaming away when sat cruising on the motorway, the 26-28mpg didn't help either. Oh yes and try to keep that beautiful paintwork clean!

As you can see, getting old mainly.

I'm moving down to the south of England soon but the family will be remaining in Scotland, so I needed a mile muncher and what better replacement for the type R than the Vec 150 diesel? Well I suppose everyone else could think of a better one for themselves but I really like the look of the facelift SRIs, the way it handles and how it goes.

    Nuff said really.

Hmm, I love the 150's grunt and coming from the ATR I don't think the 120 would have been enough.

Thats a crackin car, and that is one of my fav colours. I love black paint that looks purple in the sunlight, subtlle and eyecatching depending on the light cast on it. I bet the veccys not as much fun to drive as that was? Very nice

Believe it or not it is...yes the turbo lag can be a pain, but not as much trying to keep within vtec revs (over 6k). It's nice to be able to just put your foot down and feel that big torque shove at low revs.

Plus the sri suspension with the vxr alloys gives comparable roadholding. I would imagine that the eibach springs and bilstein dampers would make pretty much spot on handling too.
