I personally think the Insignia 2.0 Turbo is brilliant, and the 4x4 system is excellent. The best kept secret in the Insignia range.

220PS (217bhp) standard, and Courtenay offer a re-map to 270bhp and I think the torque is around the 300lb/ft mark.

Opel have two of these with the re-map for evaluation purposes! But I never mentioned that.

We had a vauxhall police demo insignia 2.0 turbo 4x4 come into us before xmas, 4000 miles, coolant loss, possible head fault or gasket, sump full of water. Wouldnt say they are very quick or exciting to be honest, no room in boot compared to vectra estate. Dorset police said they were not interested one bit when i spoke to one of the chaps. load of **** i think he said. Letting them down didnt help matters though...

IMO the Insignia is a much more superior car then the Vectra.....add the 4x4 system and it becomes a totally different animal!. I have not driven a 2.0 turbo but would expect only average performance because its heavy....however the V6 turbo is just lovely, quicker than it actually feels and in the real world its probably just as good on fuel as the 2.0T

Rumour has it that apart from in the VXR, the 2.8T is going to be dropped, because the 2.0T is so good. I have heard it said that it is pulling well over its published 217bhp in standard tune.

No, but have driven both the 4x4 and the FWD. You won't be disapointed.

6.7 to 60 and 150mph is not a slow car. I have driven a few of these and they are really good.

Regarding the police car, they get hammered and will be subject to more abuse than the average owner.

Our local Police force didn't like them at first, as they originally had the 2.8 T V6 on demo and were disapointed when they got 2.0T's.

Your right the Insignia is far superior, I don't care what anybody says. I have driven a Vectra 2.0T BSR stage 1 and an Insignia 2.0T on the same day and the Insignia is quicker.

Regarding the MPG of the 2.8T, the 2.8T is far more thirstier and this is why Opel are looking drop the 2.8T in all but the VXR.

The evaluation Insignia 2.0T's they are running that are re-mapped to 270bhp have more torque, lower emmisions and better mpg than the 260PS 2.8T.

They even lapped the RING alot quicker, indicating alot better handling as well.

In America, they are about to Launch the Buick Regal GS, which is in effect a perfect copy of the Insignia VXR but with a 255bhp 2.0T, not the 2.8.
