Default This is what I swapped the Insignia for.

Well I've just returned after a weeks hols over on the norfolk broads, near Yarmouth. Due to continued issues I was getting with my particular Insignia I decided to let her go after only 13 weeks. I picked up my new BMW 318i 2ltr Automatic saturday morning...last week, and then set straight off on our hols, so it was quite a interesting week, and spent much of it learning about the new car and reading the manual, as you do of course. I am overjoyed with the car, dead quiet, you have to listen very carefully to see if its running, its quite fast, but also economical, averaged almost 40mpg during the hols, which is not bad at all for a automatic. (though it also supports sports and manual modes too)

This is obviously a VX forum, but thought one or two of my pals in here may be interested to see what I swapped the Insignia for. The colour of the car is sparkling graphite. I'm like a young exited kid again...lol.

If its against the rules to show a couple of pics of a non VX car then please delete this thread.
I have joined a couple of Beemer forums, but will have a browse on here ocassionally if thats okay, so to you all you new Insignia owners, and everyone else, I wish you all lots of luck, happiness and lots of happy motoring.
    Best wishes.... Cameron

Thanks matey, I think looks are a personal thing really, I personally never liked the rear of the Insignia. What really matters is the way the car drives, and the Insignia... especially my 1.8 just did'nt tick the boxes in the that department for me anyway. It was far too heavy for the engine, the 2ltr in the 318i is much faster, and far quieter too, in fact its almost silent, its also well over 200kg lighter which probably helps too. Its smaller but its plenty big enough for the wife and I. TBH I actually thought my old 150 cdti vec-c was a much better and far faster car to drive.JMO

The fact that the BM has put a smile back on my face is something, unfortunately thats something that happened rarely since having the Insignia, though I'm sure other Insignia owners love their's and hopefully dont have the issues I had with mine.

    nice.
big fan of bm, drive a 530 myself. people hate them a lot (and the person behind the wheel, from experience), but stuff that, they are a cracking drive.
    hard luck with the insignia.

It was indeed. Caravan location at the front directly overlooking the sea, with decking at front and side. Really nice c/van with extra on-suite to main bedroom. Quite a nice week.
