Holding my hands up, it was my fault, I knew it was there as I saw it when I parked. However, I forgot about it entirely as I pulled out...until I hit it.

I'm guessing it'll be repaired with new door skins?

Fortunately I am fully comp with my no claims protected and a courtesy car, but I chose £200 excess, which saved £50 at the time...whoopee.
Unfortunately as its driveable its not classed as urgent so the bodyshop's picking it up in two weeks

To top it all we did the weekly shop in Asda today, and somehow managed to spend £263, and we've still missed some stuff of the list

Ouch, did the same thing myself a few years back with the Signum. Always extra careful when I park next to bollards etc now

If it can stop someone else from doing the same in the next few weeks!

The embarrassment has died down, it happens. And better it was a stationary object than another car, or god forbid, a person. So I got off lightly.

I did immediately look for someone else to blame, but the missus doesn't drive and the kids were being quiet, so its my fault. First non-windscreen claim on my insurance in 13 years of driving. Not overly impressed with my insurance company so far, and they do say you never know how good your insurance is until you claim.

I am a little nervous as to how good the repair will be, I'll see when it comes back.
