Default vectra c special bolt on caliper

    hello guys

just popped into as if anyone knows the type of tool i'd be looking for to unbolt the caliper to swing it back to replace the front pads

i had some free time today and decided to change the pads and discs, got all changed ,got the wheels off and then i was scuppered i had to call it a day due to not having the tool to loosen the caliper bolts

if anyone could tell me what type of bolt it is and size

    many thanks guys

    Gary

you was probably seeing the carrier fixing which are e18 or e20 torx bolts

the allen key bolts are probably hidden by 2 plastic caps coming out from what looks like a plastic tube end

Machine Mart sell the eTorx sockets you need.
If you remove the calliper carrier brackets.
    They will be tight...
So a long breaker bar is a good idea and and a torque wrench too.

There are some earlier threads and how too's about the trials and tribulations of Vec pad & disc changes that may help you matey

Heres the back of the caliper

    With the caps removed

And with the 7mm allen key in

thats the 2 bolts you need to undo. The torx bolts are for the carrier. You wont need to remove these unless you need to change the discs.
