Well a set of motor factor front pads cost about £20 plus £ for the wear indicator wire really means it cost you about £45 to have them fitted. Something you could have done in about 30min or certainly 1hr if it's your first time and do a full clean copperslip up. Although the £45 is not an extorsionate amount for the labour cost by a garage, but if you had gone to Vx you could have picked up a complete pad and disc set for the front for £65 and tackled the fit yourself with aid of a How2 from the How2 section and still saved.

    Sounds fair enough
I would have estimated at £30 for the pads, £10 for the sensor, plus 1 hours labour

I wish mine were that cheap, they come in at £60 just for the pads!
Ironically, it is cheaper for me to get the pads and discs set, albeit the labour is 1.5 hours

Yip, totally agree with you mate. If in doubt then get the proffesionals out. Although, a normal garage will just use their local supplier and will have picked up and fitted the cheapest pads they could get, I'd be highly suprised if they fitted Vx ones. So you could still be compromising on quality and some may even say safety, but I'm sure they'll be adequate for your needs, as well as being replaced again pretty soon a as you rack up the miles.
