Default Wobbling steering wheel on motorway

just done a quick search and couldnt find anything the same, got standard 17" facelift sri wheels and between 70-80 on motorway it wobbles the steering wheel massivley, went and got them balenced today but made almost no difference. i put the front wheels on the back about 2 months ago and i solved the problem but now the issue is back. iam saving up for my 19's slowly so i need these to be ok for now. any ideas lads iam at mi wits end!

It will be the balencing more than likely. Instruct who ever does them to make sure they check several times, remove all the weights before they start etc. Too much weight is as bad as not enough.

If the balancing doesn't sort it then I would hazard a guess on the tyres. Are they all the same make? If so it might be down to bad/faulty manufacture. If a tyre has gone out of shape you can normally feel it if you run the flat of your hand around the tread of the tyre

just done this and feels fine and done the tyre pressure. Are these wheels notorious for distorting? just something ive heard on the grapevine

I've on occasion had a strange sensation thro' the steering wheel 'a kind of wobble' on motorways ( & other roads)....rather than the 'shake' associated with unbalance..I put it down to the wide tread tyres being affected by the uneven 'track' created by HGV's in the two nearside motorway lanes or tarmac being 'pushed' sideways on other roads similarly by HGV's.....Also experienced shaking/wobbling in earlier Cavaliers when braking..decent replacement discs seemed to cure that one at the time....cheers
